The University of Nottingham is committed to ensuring we do everything we can to provide a safe and supportive environment for everyone. This includes students, staff and those visiting our campuses.

In May 2021, the University of Nottingham introduced Report & Support, a reporting tool designed by Culture Shift for students, staff, and visitors to report or disclose incidents such as hate crime and harassment.

As part of our commitment to our community and the introduction of Report & Support, the University of Nottingham will be publishing  annual reports on the intelligence gathered through the platform using anonymised data.  This report outlines all reports of hate crime, harassment and assault received at the University in the academic year 2021-22, whether the incident occurred on campus or elsewhere. The report also contains information about responses to reports and also about wider safeguarding developments within the University.

Publishing this information demonstrates our commitment to increasing our transparency within the reporting process. We hope that this will increase our community’s confidence in reporting to us if they have experienced or witnessed any of these behaviours.
