The University of Nottingham is committed to ensuring we do everything we can to provide a safe and supportive environment for everyone. This includes, staff, students and those visiting our campuses.
In May 2021, the University of Nottingham introduced Report & Support, a reporting tool designed by Culture Shift for students, staff, and visitors to report or disclose incidents such as hate crime and harassment.
As part of our commitment to our community and the introduction of Report & Support, the University of Nottingham will be publishing annual reports on the intelligence gathered through the platform using anonymised data. Hate Crimes, Harassment & Assault – Annual Statistics 2020-21.pdf497.39 KBThis report outlines all reports of hate crime, harassment and assault received at the University in the academic year 2020-21, whether the incident occurred on campus or elsewhere. Please note, the statistics being reported on in the above report are from our previous reporting system and Report & Support. From September 2021, all reports will be produced using the data gathered from Report & Support. These reports will include the number of reports received, actions taken, outcomes and where appropriate, recommendations to the University.
Publishing this information demonstrates our commitment to increasing our transparency within the reporting process. We hope that this will increase our community’s confidence in reporting to us if they have experienced or witnessed any of these behaviours.
