Support staff based in schools who act as an initial point of contact for any issues either at, or outside of, University. In person or online appointments are available via UniHub where you can select a time and date to suit you.
Accident and Emergency
For physical injuries that require immediate attention or if you are experiencing a mental health crisis and in need of immediate in-person support please present to your nearest accident and emergency centre.
Counselling
Our counselling team are available to meet students in person or on teams. The service offer short-term support and can be accessed via a referral through the following services: Support & Wellbeing, GP, Disability Support, Report and Support.
Crisis line
For people in a mental health crisis, the crisis line operated by local health workers is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to people of all ages.
GP services
If you are experiencing physical health issues or non-acute mental health difficulties eg: low mood or issues with your sleep please book an appointment with your GP.

You can also speak to a Support & Wellbeing Officer or member of ResX (see above) if this is impacting you academically or you would like to talk to someone within the university.
Mental Health Advisory Service
Our Mental Health Advisory Service support students who have significant mental health difficulties. If you are worried about a friend or peer’s mental health you can notify a Support & Wellbeing Officer in your school and they can speak to the service. Where you have raised a concern about a friend/peer the team may need to inform the person of your contact.
If you have lost property on campus or require a new university card you can go to the security office next to Hallward Library on University Park. You can also complete a lost property form.
If you are on campus and require support in an emergency, you can call the team 24/7 on 0115 951 8888 (for emergencies only)
If you are supporting someone who appears to be experiencing a severe mental health crisis on campus and requires support, please also use the emergency number to call security. All of our security staff are First Aid trained and Mental Health First Aiders.
