We have broken down this information into the main issues our security team respond to. If you have experienced something that isn’t listed below please feel free to reach out directly to Report & Support who can offer guidance and support around any significant incident or your local Wellbeing Officer via UniHub.
Accommodation issues
Wellbeing/Anti-Social Behaviour - If you live in halls on campus, or ResX supported halls (a full list can be found here) our ResX team are here to help. The friendly team support with any wellbeing issues and problems within households, as well as helping build friendships and fun experiences through a programme of activities on offer.
ResX support is available between 9am – midnight on weekdays and 2pm – midnight on weekends. For issues out of these hours issues please call security on 0115 951 3013 or 0115 9518888 in an emergency.
Maintenance issues – For any maintenance issues in on campus halls, phone 0115 748 7600 option 1 and then select the option for your halls.
For maintenance issues in off campus halls, report locally to your maintenance team either via the app, or going into the office.
Bullying/Harassment
If you are experiencing bullying/harassment within halls you can either speak directly to the ResX team or tell us about this via the University’s Report and Support platform. The Report and Support team are part of the University’s wellbeing team and offer support and options for formal reporting following significant incidents.

Fraud/Scam
The University’s Report and Support platform has information on support available follow fraud/scams as well as reporting options.
If the fraud/scam was committed by a University of Nottingham student or you feel you need further support and/or advice around reporting please do let us know via the University’s Report and Support platform.
If you are a student and are struggling financially due to being a victim of fraud, you can contact the University’s finance and funding department to see if there are any funds you may be able to access.
Laptop loans are also available to students from the University if required and the team are also able to check and remove any malware on your laptop.
Initiation/Hazing
If you have experienced or witnessed initiation/hazing behaviour please be assured that the University take this seriously. Hazing/initiation is not a culture we want at this University and with your help we can look to stop this.

Mental Health
If you have concerns around your own or a friend’s mental health you can reach out for support from your Support & Wellbeing team. Appointments are available via UniHub or nott.ac/wellbeing (click on ‘I need some support’).
If it is your own mental health, an appointment with your GP may also be advisable.

The NHS crisis line is also available on 0808 196 3779.
Sexual Assault
The University have specially trained staff (SVLO’s) who can offer support and information on reporting following a sexual assault. Please let us know by submitting a disclosure with your name via Report & Support so we can reach out to you.
If the assault has happened within seven days, you may also wish to consider contacting the Topaz Centre. The Topaz Centre (also known as the SARC) offer a comprehensive service in Nottinghamshire, for those who have experience sexual violence/sexual assault. They will give you an option to have an examination, which can preserve any evidence. They can offer this even if you don’t want to report to the Police at the moment but may wish to pursue in the future. Accessing the Topaz Centre is completely optional. The service is 24/7 and you can speak to someone on 0800 085 9993 or you contact us via their website.
Theft
If you have had an item/items stolen from you either whilst at University or outside of University. You should report this to the police via 111 (use 999 if the theft is in process).
If the theft was committed by a University of Nottingham student or you feel you need further support and/or advice around reporting please do let us know via the University’s Report and Support platform.
